Howard (Howie) Coxe, class of 1955. Howie is best remembered by Tony Mantinan as being very industrious. He was up in the middle of the night tending to several newspaper routes for the Miami Herald, using the money to buy a small plane. I happened to be with him at the old Brown's airfield in Kendall, the day he soloed and was certified. Boy was he proud!
If you're not sure that you remember his name, you would recall his British accent. Howie was originally from Jamaica, and I understand that later on he returned to the Island, where I'm told he died. As Tony said, I guess he just flew away!
